Another lovely story from the book, "Tom's Crucifix and Other Stories" can be found here. Oh, how I love the old stories with the Faith and Morals woven into them. There is much to be learned from them by this mother!
We have added our first 'Story of the Week' to the tab of the same name. "Tom's Crucifix," a very, very good read!
I read this story to my children at the end of our first day of school. It was truly wonderful! There was not a dry eye in the room. I teach an age group from 4 - 17 and they all enjoyed it with the exception of the 4 year old. It was a little too long for her. When I questioned my 6 year old after reading it, he was able to answer all the comprehension questions I asked him. So the aim of the book, as you will read in the preface, worked, for the children understood what I read.
Next Sunday we hope to start posting a children's sermon for each week of the Liturgical year.
